Fortress Technology to Showcase Hygienic Icon X-ray System at PPMA 2025

Fortress Technology will present its Icon X-ray system at PPMA Total 2025, positioning the equipment as a robust, hygienic and space-efficient solution for food processors seeking to strengthen contaminant detection and consumer safety.
Designed for installation at the end of production lines, the Icon X-ray system can be integrated with the company’s Raptor checkweigher and features options such as internal view cameras, Vyper Vision label inspection, and an automatic reject device to help manufacturers reduce footprint requirements.
The machine is equipped with the IA+ algorithm, developed by Fortress Technology’s in-house X-ray specialists, to adapt to variable density products and detect a range of potential contaminants including metal, ceramic, glass and dense plastics. Sanitation-focused design features include bevelled surfaces to encourage water runoff, magnetic X-ray curtains, a quick-release conveyor, and IP69k-rated sensors.
With user safety in mind, processors can choose between internal monitoring cameras or transparent high-density windows built into the sliding access panels. The stainless steel cabinet is self-contained, requiring no additional shielding to meet X-ray exposure standards.
Data integration and reporting are included as standard, with optional communication adapters available for customised data collection.
