BakeAway Partners with Bradman Lake to Upgrade Packaging Operations

BakeAway, a UK-based producer of chilled dough products, has modernised its packaging line with the installation of a WR4 Wraparound Robotic Case Packer from Bradman Lake. The project, confirmed last year, was successfully installed and commissioned in February 2025.
The system is designed to improve efficiency in handling BakeAway’s portfolio, which includes puff pastry, filo pastry, pastry blocks, pancakes, pizza bases and cookie doughs. Bradman Lake’s WR4 case packer, equipped with robotic loading and automatic size change features, operates at a rate of 100 cartons per minute.
According to BakeAway, the new equipment provides greater reliability and flexibility than the company’s previous set-up. Tim Embleton, Head of Operations at BakeAway, praised the collaboration: “Firstly, what can I say—from first contact with Michael, Bradman Lake’s Sales Manager, to planning, design, build, FAT and after-sales support, the Case Packer we have at BakeAway is exceptional. All the teams at Bradman Lake had great knowledge and couldn’t be more helpful.”
Michael Rice, Sales Manager at Bradman Lake, described the contract as “a fantastic win for Bradman Lake and a brilliant opportunity to support BakeAway in achieving its production goals.”
The installation represents BakeAway’s first collaboration with Bradman Lake and reflects the dough producer’s ongoing focus on innovation and operational efficiency.
Bradman Lake, founded in 1948 and a subsidiary of Langley Holdings, supplies packaging machinery and turnkey systems to clients across the bakery, confectionery, dry foods, chilled and frozen foods, pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
