Kyocera launches the TPA series thermal printhead which it claims offers the industry's highest speed with exceptional quality for barcode labels in healthcare and food processing.
The new printhead prints at a speed of 250mm/s, achieved through Kyocera's heating element formation technology. The company said these printheads will enhance productivity in many fields, including distribution, food processing, and healthcare.
Rising urbanisation and growing consumer demand in emerging economies are driving increased logistics volumes. In the food industry, barcode printing needs are rising due to stricter labelling requirements, including nutritional information. Globally, there is a push to improve efficiency and reduce labour costs, creating demand for faster, more durable thermal printheads for high-volume, varied applications.
To meet this need, Kyocera has enhanced heat conduction and head structure design to ensure consistent, high-quality printing across various media. The TPA Series features improved corrosion and wear resistance through proprietary film deposition technology, extending printhead life even in harsh environments.
