The installation was completed at the end of June

Direct mail and fulfilment provider Mailing and Marketing Solutions (MAMS) has become the first company in the UK to install MBO's latest-generation Roll-Fed Folding System.

The Leeds-based family business, which is jointly owned and led by father and son team Mario and Anthony Krajniewski, has expanded rapidly in recent years, driven by increasing demand for personalised, paper-wrap fulfilment and fast turnaround times.

The installation of the new MBO machine was completed at the end of June.

"We're in the middle of a transformational growth phase, and this latest addition marks the completion of a £2.7m strategic investment programme," said Anthony Krajniewski.

"The new MBO roll-fed system is a game-changer – delivering speeds up to 50% faster than our current equipment. It gives us the flexibility, firepower, and reliability to exceed client expectations at scale."

He added: "We've worked with MBO sheetfed folders for years, so we already trusted the quality. What stood out with this system is the speed and automation – it's a genuine leap forward for our production capability."

The company has also recently taken on two additional CMC paperwrapping lines that feature advanced inline pick-and-place technology and Promail Eagle inkjet heads, taking the business up to 12 lines in total.

Krajniewski added: "We've also launched our own national haulage division, investing in five brand-new Class 1 vehicles. This not only streamlines our postal logistics with direct injection into Whistl but also opens new opportunities to support a wider range of transport clients, which is growing daily."

Komori UK handles sales and support for MBO products in the UK. Tom Baker, national sales specialist – Postpress at Komori UK, said: "We're proud to have worked with and supported MAMS in their decision to invest in the MBO line.

"Their choice shows real ambition and forward-thinking, and I'm confident it will deliver strong results.

"This marks an exciting step for Komori UK and the wider UK reel-fed sector, which has traditionally leaned towards other technologies, a key reason why MBO's strong track record in reel-fed solutions is less well known here and in Europe."

He added: "For high-speed production, however, MBO stands out, offering the only true end-to-end solution from a single manufacturer.

"Reel-fed systems have been a major part of MBO's success in the USA for many years, and we're now seeing fast-growing interest across the UK and Europe, particularly in direct mail, commercial print, and pharma. To support this momentum, we continue to expand our range with innovative finishing modules."
