Coveris Completes Major Halle Expansion to Meet Rising Demand for Recyclable Films

Coveris has completed a €9.5 million investment programme at its flexible packaging facility in Halle, Germany, expanding production capacity and enhancing capabilities for recyclable and customised packaging.
The project comprised the installation of a new cast film extrusion line, a high-specification gravure printing press, and the construction of a warehouse aimed at streamlining on-site logistics and storage.
The new F08 cast film extrusion line, now in full production following material qualification, enables the manufacture of recyclable mono-films for thermoforming and medical applications. The company said the line will also support bespoke packaging requirements across multiple market segments.
A Rotomec T9 gravure press has also been brought online, designed to deliver higher printing speeds and consistency while maintaining premium output quality. Coveris stated the press will help the site meet delivery schedules with improved efficiency.
The newly built warehouse is intended to optimise internal material handling and provide additional storage, reducing turnaround times for shipments.
Michael Schrameyer, Managing Director at Coveris Flexibles Germany, said: "This completed investment is a testament to our long-term vision and commitment to delivering high performance packaging solutions. Halle is now equipped to meet evolving market demands with even greater agility and quality."
