HERMA Debuts HERMA eco and New Labeling Line Innovations in Nuremberg
HERMA GmbH will showcase a suite of new labeling solutions at Fachpack 2025 (Hall 3C, Stand 322), highlighting advances in modular integration, speed, and sustainability. The German company, a leading European specialist in packaging and product labeling, generated €452.6 million in turnover in 2024, with exports accounting for nearly two-thirds of sales.
A key debut is the HERMA eco label applicator, which will be demonstrated for the first time in a top-and-bottom labeling configuration within the newly developed 652C model. Designed for high efficiency at a competitive price point, the HERMA eco delivers precision labeling at conveyor speeds of up to 30 metres per minute for labels up to 160mm wide. A master encoder function ensures continuous synchronization, enabling accurate placement even at high throughput.
The 652C is fully modular and can be configured for single-surface labeling, with optional integration of the HERMA 500 thermal transfer printer or hot-foil unit for variable data printing. HERMA says its modular construction supports shorter delivery times and flexible adaptation to customer requirements.
HERMA will also spotlight a consumable-free printing process in its 362E double-sided labeling machine. In partnership with Domino, the system uses a UV laser to create a permanent image by inducing a colour shift in specialised film labels, eliminating the need for ink or transfer ribbons. The resulting print is resistant to smudging, scratching, chemicals, and temperature fluctuations, making it suitable for pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and chemical products.
In another demonstration, the 752C machine will show how labels can be used to both seal and identify packaging — a process HERMA is promoting as an example of sustainable design. Visitors will see the system apply labels to clamshell containers filled with popcorn, illustrating the potential for multifunctional labeling to reduce packaging components.
The company will also operate a complete labeling line on the show floor, combining the HERMA eco, the flagship HERMA 500 applicator, and Print & Apply systems. Designed for easy integration into logistics and production environments, these systems share common modular components to streamline maintenance and enable fast changeovers between products.
Completing the exhibition line-up, HERMA will present two semi-automatic machines — the 414 for top labeling and the 211 for wrap-around labeling of cylindrical items — aimed at small-batch production.
HERMA's presence at Fachpack underscores the growing role of modularity and multifunctionality in packaging technology, with sustainability integrated not as an add-on but as a core design principle.
