Somerset Printing Launches after Local Entrepreneur Acquires S.Print
(L-R) Somerset Printing owner Jonathan Pickard with S.Print founder Steven Hellend
S.Print has entered a new chapter as Somerset Printing after the Highbridge business was bought by local entrepreneur Jonathan Pickard.
Along with the rebrand, there will be a broader offering to customers going forward, with a greater range of creative and commercial print solutions, while it will continue to serve Burnham-on-Sea, Highbridge and the wider Somerset community.
Pickard told Printweek: "We will be offering not just print, but website services, social media management etc, to help local businesses have a one-stop-shop for their marketing and print needs."
S.Print was founded five years ago by Steven Hellend from his kitchen table. As a one-man operation he built strong community connections while working with local business, charities and organisations. He is now passing on the baton and moving on to new pastures.
Hellend said: "I'm incredibly proud of what S.Print has become. From the kitchen table to serving hundreds of loyal customers across Somerset – it's been a fantastic journey.
"I'm thrilled to pass the baton to someone as experienced and passionate as Jonathan, and I'm confident the business will thrive under his leadership."
With experience working for brands such as Starbucks, Lexus and Denny's Diners, Pickard brings more than 15 years of experience in graphic design, print and marketing which he now hopes to use to help local businesses grow.
He said: "It's an honour to take over a business with such strong local roots.
"Steven has built something really special here, and my goal is to build on that legacy – offering high-quality print, signage, design, and creative support to even more businesses across the region."
He added: "I'd love to hear from local businesses looking to refresh their print materials or take their branding to the next level."
The acquisition was completed on 18 July for an undisclosed sum.
Currently the business is based at Premier Business Park in Highbridge, but Pickard told Printweek there are plans to move offices and employ a team.
The company will offer an expanded range of services, including business cards, brochures, large format signage, window vinyls and branded merchandise to local clients, along with design, marketing and websites.
Reflecting on the future of the business, Pickard said it was "all unknown as of yet" but that he was "excited to see what's around the corner." For now, Pickard is focused on merging the marketing services to the print business, to provide "a one-stop shop" for Somerset's business community.
