Sealprem Installs New Audion Automatic Packaging Machine
The Audion CS-Matic L will futureproof Sealprem's packaging process
Sealprem has taken delivery of an Audion CS-Matic L automatic packaging machine at its production facility in Scunthorpe to enhance its sustainable packaging and efficiency.
Installed around a month ago and supplied by Friedheim International, the device is a continuous side- and cross-sealing system that automatically adjusts film length and width to each product, eliminating the need for compressed air and reducing film usage.
With a packaging capacity of up to 4,200 products per hour, the machine is suitable for high-mix, high-volume environments.
Sealprem (Premier Sealant Systems Ltd) specialises in high-performance sealing and construction products, specifically roofing and cladding, as well as acoustics and other waterproofing products.
The business said the device would futureproof its packaging process and reduce waste in its growing operation.
Lina Adomavičienė, technical and sustainability manager at Sealprem, said: "Once we had identified the need of more modern solutions to our packaging process, several different suppliers and machines were looked at and tested with our products.
"The process of choosing the right one took a few months and the Audion CS-Matic L was decided to be the best option for our diverse range of products."
Since the installation, Sealprem said it has seen faster turnaround times for its EPDM membranes, foam fillers, and fire-rated construction products, and reduced packaging waste thanks to the machine's automatic sizing and precise sealing system.
The machine also improves product protection and presentation across its supply chain, the company added.
Friedheim UK & Ireland sales specialist for packaging and finishing Robert Jess commented: "Our goal is to enable UK manufacturers to operate faster, smarter, and greener. We're proud to support Sealprem's mission with packaging systems that deliver measurable value."
