Flair Packaging has announced an expansion of its Canadian manufacturing capabilities with the addition of new presses and laminators at its plant in Calgary, Alberta.

The company has also acquired a second facility in the city, adding 35,000ft² of space to its operations.

This move is the first in a series of planned expansions aimed at strengthening Flair's Canadian manufacturing platform, the company said.

The new installations at Flair's Calgary plant include a ten-colour flexographic press and a solventless laminator.

These additions are set to enhance the company's ability to offer complete, speciality packaging solutions that are tailored to meet specific thickness, barrier, and performance requirements.

Flair's expansion in Calgary also complements its existing North American operations, which provide a wide array of barrier materials.

These materials are available as roll stock for form-fill-seal, lidding, and thermoforming applications, as well as premade pouch formats with optional features such as valves and spouts.

Flair president and owner Young So said: "Unprecedented disruptions in recent years have exposed supply chain vulnerabilities across all industries, and we took that as a signal to evolve.

"We saw an opportunity to help brands stay agile in the face of changing demand by integrating advanced material innovation with onshore manufacturing. Our goal has always been to make high-performance, value-added packaging solutions more accessible to the North American market."
