Sketches International has boosted its digital print and packaging capabilities with the installation of a Fujifilm Revoria Press PC1120 and the XMF PressReady workflow automation system.

The London-based creative agency, which also offers design, branding, video and web development services, added the six-colour toner press in February 2024 to support its growing demand for high-end, short-run print. The Revoria PC1120's ability to handle white and gold toner in a single pass was a major factor in the decision, according to director Nizar Al Olabi, who first encountered the press at Labelexpo 2023.

"Initially, we were looking for a solution that could handle white ink, but the added capability of gold convinced us to move forward with the investment, and we're glad we did," said Mr Al Olabi. "It's opened up so many creative possibilities, from special edition packaging to high-end labels across over 20 different materials."

Sketches International specialises in tailored customer service and works with a range of materials across applications such as stationery, labels and premium paper bags. Mr Al Olabi noted that the Revoria's colour accuracy and embellishment support has become central to their offer. "Sometimes that's what closes the deal," he said. "Being among the first in the UK to offer short-run stickers with special effects gives us a huge competitive edge."

To streamline its operations, the company also invested in Fujifilm's XMF PressReady workflow. Zoia Abdulkarim, head of the Artworks Finalizing Team, said: "It's intuitive, reduces mistakes, and helps us run jobs quickly – even with a relatively less experienced team."

The investment comes after a challenging period in which the agency's previous press was damaged in a flood. Mr Al Olabi credited Fujifilm with helping the team recover: "They helped us turn things around, and now we're better equipped than ever to deliver for our clients."

Fujifilm's Spencer Green said: "Sketches International perfectly demonstrates how creative vision can be elevated through advanced print technology. We're delighted to support their continued growth and innovation."

The agency is now considering expanding into wide format printing and may add another Fujifilm device in the near future.
