Independent label converter, B S Labels, has strengthened its position in the UK digital label printing market with the installation of a Dantex PicoJet 1200 hybrid press. The investment follows more than a decade of digital printing experience and a longstanding supplier relationship with Dantex.
The hybrid press includes an integrated flexo station, semi-rotary die-cutting, and an extended ink set – CMYK plus white, green, orange, and violet – designed to offer greater colour range and flexibility. According to B S Labels, these features will help the company meet growing demand for high-impact labels and faster turnaround times.
"We've been printing digital for 12 years, but the PicoJet represents a step-change in capability," said Dan Pole, studio and digital print manager at B S Labels. "We looked at several competitor presses, but the extended colour gamut, strong white ink, and UK manufacturing were deciding factors."
The move to the PicoJet platform was influenced by the companies' prior collaboration. B S Labels has used Dantex's plate materials and processing equipment for several years, and the new press installation continues that partnership. Mr Pole noted that the installation and onboarding process was smooth and supported by Dantex throughout.
The PicoJet 1200 Hybrid is designed to enable converters to shift more work from flexographic to digital production while maintaining colour consistency. The inline finishing features and 100% inspection system also contribute to reduced waste and improved workflow efficiency.
"This installation is not just about increasing our capacity," said Mr Pole. "It's also about preparing for the future with a digital press that aligns with our needs in terms of print quality, speed, and flexibility."
Richard Dimmock, international sales manager at Dantex, commented on the collaboration, describing B S Labels as a company with clear production goals and a strong interest in digital growth. He added that the PicoJet 1200 Hybrid offers a practical option for converters aiming to combine digital flexibility with inline processing.
Dantex said the installation reflects a broader trend in the UK label sector toward modular, high-performance inkjet systems that can handle both complex graphics and varied run lengths. For Dantex, it also strengthens its presence in the digital press market with a customer already familiar with its technology and support.
