Syntegon Unveils High-Speed Packaging Solution for Sandwich Cookies at IBA 2025
Syntegon will showcase its latest packaging innovation for sandwich cookies at iba 2025, one of the leading trade fairs for the bakery and confectionery industry. The new FGCT count feeder, designed to optimize efficiency and minimize product waste, will make its European debut at the event, held from May 18 to 22 in Düsseldorf.
The high-speed count feeder gently arranges sandwich cookies in precise quantities before placing them on-edge in trays or directly into a flow wrapping machine. This process reduces breakage while maintaining consistent alignment for an optimal product presentation. The system's ability to handle delicate products at high speeds without compromising quality is expected to address key industry challenges, including efficiency demands and waste reduction.
Adapting to Industry Challenges
The introduction of the FGCT count feeder comes at a time when the cookie and cracker industry faces increasing pressures, including labor shortages and rising production costs. According to Daniel Bossel, product manager at Syntegon, automation is becoming essential for manufacturers aiming to maintain high output and quality standards. "The industry is dealing with a growing variety of products, from classic biscuits to gluten-free and reduced-sugar options. These require careful handling, which our new system delivers while maintaining efficiency," Bossel said.
Syntegon's latest solution aligns with the company's broader portfolio of automated packaging technologies. The company provides modular systems for various bakery products, ensuring seamless processing for both delicate premium cookies and sturdier crackers. The FGCT count feeder's compact design, coupled with its automation capabilities, aims to enhance overall performance and reduce operational complexities for manufacturers.
