Poly-clip System, a global leader in clip closure technology, presented its latest packaging and automation innovations at IFFA 2025. The company will highlight new developments in sustainable packaging, digitalization, and automation as it shifts its focus from clipping technology to broader packaging solutions.

Expanding Automation and Digital Services

At the trade fair in Frankfurt, Poly-clip System will showcase a range of packaging solutions catering to industries from food processing to chemicals. The company's 1,000-square-meter exhibition space will feature equipment designed for various applications, including snack-portion sausages, cheese products, and industrial packaging.

A key focus will be automation, with demonstrations of advanced clipping machines designed to optimize production efficiency. Among the showcased models are the Double Clipper FCA 50, the ICA, and the FCA 160 XL Quadruple Clipper, which offer customized solutions for different production scales. Additionally, Poly-clip System will unveil an automated casing reloading system aimed at reducing labor dependency in sausage production. The company is also integrating transport robots that communicate with clipping machines, further streamlining manufacturing processes.

Sustainability in Packaging

With increasing regulatory pressure, including the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), Poly-clip System is emphasizing sustainable packaging solutions. The company claims its clip closure technology significantly reduces CO2 emissions compared to conventional packaging methods, citing a 2019 study by the Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT. At IFFA, visitors will see firsthand how these solutions contribute to more environmentally friendly packaging options for meat and alternative protein products.

A New Strategic Direction

Since 2023, Poly-clip System has been under new leadership, with CEO Dr. Alexander Giehl steering the company toward a more comprehensive approach to packaging solutions. "We are not just a clipping specialist—we see ourselves as a packaging company developing sustainable and smart solutions for the future," Giehl said. CSO Mesut Akbulut added that IFFA provides an opportunity to engage directly with customers to ensure the company continues to meet industry needs with innovative technologies and services.
