Cross-Strait Children Bond Over Ancient Paper and Printing Techniques
A cultural exchange event titled "Shared Language, Shared Roots" brought together children from both sides of the Taiwan Strait in Zhangzhuang Village, Lankao County, Henan province on August 21. The participants immersed themselves in hands-on experiences with two of China's Four Great Inventions - papermaking and movable-type printing.
The workshop began with an exploration of historical writing materials before guiding the children through the evolution, techniques and practical applications of these ancient technologies. Under professional instruction, the young participants practiced traditional papermaking and printing methods.
This cultural immersion not only fostered friendship but also deepened appreciation for the richness of Chinese heritage. The event demonstrated how traditional culture continues to serve as an enduring bond connecting people across the Strait.
