Xinxiangyin Promotes Quality Upgrading in the Household Paper Industry

   At the 2024 Heartprint Good Tissue Strategic Release Conference held recently, Hengan Group's Heartprint joined hands with the China Paper Society, the Household Paper Professional Committee of the China Paper Association, and the China Pulp and Paper Research Institute to launch the "100% Virgin Wood Pulp as a Quality Certification Symbol for Household Paper" initiative, aimed at enhancing the recognition of quality tissues and jointly promoting the quality upgrading of the household paper industry.


   As one of the most common daily necessities, tissues are indispensable in daily life, widely used in households, catering, offices, medical care, beauty, outdoor activities, and other fields. According to statistics, in 2022, China's consumption of household paper reached 10.59 million tons, with an average annual growth rate of 4.16% from 2013 to 2022, and the market size reached 154.9 billion yuan in 2023.


   With the expansion of the market size and the upgrading of consumer quality demands, the household paper industry has shown significant characteristics of fierce market competition, diverse and refined consumer trends. Segmented functional tissues such as cotton soft tissues, facial tissues, handkerchiefs, hand towels, kitchen paper towels, disinfectant wipes, and baby lotion tissues have quickly emerged, leading to a quality upgrade in paper product consumption.


   According to the "2024 Chinese Quality Lifestyle Paper Consumption Trend Insight White Paper," 66% of surveyed consumers are willing to pay a higher price for high-quality, guaranteed safe, natural and additive-free tissues. However, more than half of consumers are troubled by the inability to discern product quality from external packaging, the lack of standards to judge good tissues in the market, and the inconsistent quality of products, unreasonable paper specifications, and difficulties in ensuring health and safety remain the major pain points.


   As consumers' demands for the quality of household paper products continue to rise, many brands are focusing on aspects such as product packaging, functionalities, selling points, and pricing strategies. In this regard, Heartprint insists on using 100% virgin wood pulp to create good tissues, continuously promoting the quality upgrading of tissues.

Xu Qingliu, President of Hengan International Group Limited, stated that Heartprint not only has the responsibility to create good tissues but also aims to help customers better identify what constitutes good tissues.


   At the release conference, Heartprint released the Heartprint Velvet Cube tissues made from 100% virgin wood pulp. It is a TAD (Through Air Drying) product, a production technology recognized worldwide for producing high-quality household paper. In 2023, Heartprint introduced TAD paper machine equipment, and the Heartprint Velvet Cube series boasts twice the softness and 12 times the absorbency of regular paper machine products, significantly enhancing comfort and usability.
