Bluetree Group Installs Renz Inline 500 for Calendar Season

The machine will be producing around 35,000 calendars a week during peak period at Bluetree
Bluetree Group has purchased a Renz Inline 500 Classic to increase its capacity ready for calendar season.
The Rotherham, South Yorkshire-based printer installed the punching and binding machine in early August as an addition to the company’s existing equipment.
It came as the company approached it’s busiest three months and was looking to boost speed and expand production capacities.
Mark Young, managing director of Bluetree Group said: “Our investment plan was built around the fact we are now approaching our busiest three months of the year – and the Renz Inline 500 Classic will be crucial to our success. The machine has been running really well.”
Young told Printweek: “It’s going to help us to deliver more calendars faster to our customers.”
During peak season, the Inline 500 will be producing around 35,000 calendars a week for the business, which operates through two brands, instantprint.co.uk and Route1Print.co.uk, and has a £60m turnover.
Training on the machine was, “really straightforward, it’s a really easy to use machine,” Young added.
The firm’s 13,470sqm production facility in Rotherham houses all its print brands and this new machine will be an addition to other recent investments including PlastGrommet’s Hybrid TexWiz banner finishing machine, installed earlier this year, and a second JWEI digital cutting table installed in May.
Initial discussions around the investment started in February, with the deal finalised in August after the printer visited the Renz headquarters in Germany.
Bluetree Group has worked with Renz for over a decade, a factor that influenced the company’s final decision on choosing the supplier and machine.
It also represents one of the first installs since Renz was acquired by Plockmatic Group in June.
Young commented that the acquisition had “further cemented” the two companies “long-standing relationship”.
“It provides reassurance thanks to a great support network behind the companies. We did look at competitors, but Renz offered by far the best solution and we felt it is best to stick with the people we know well,” added Young.
Iain Bullock, Renz (UK) managing director, said: “This deal with Bluetree Group is testament to our commitment to provide unrivalled products, services and support. This, together with the opening of our new showroom in at the Morgana Systems premises in Milton Keynes, sends a strong, positive message to our partners and customers and is another sign of our unwavering cooperation to grow our business successfully within Plockmatic Group.”
Founded in 1989, Bluetree Group employs 320 staff, with 250 working in production.
